SPICY CHICKEN LIVER | MAANGHANG AT MALINAMNAM NA ADOBONG ATAY NG MANOK

This is a traditional Filipino dish in adobo style with Indian cuisine twist as a result you will have a yummy spicy chicken liver goodness.

INGREDIENTS:



Marinade:
  • 1/2 tbsp salt
  • 1/2 - 1 tbsp red chilli powder
  • 1/4 tbsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tbsp coriander powder

Other ingredients for cooking:
  • 2 medium onions
  • 3 - 4 medium tomatoes
  • 1 tbsp ginger paste
  • 3 julienne green chilli
  • 1/2 - 1 tbsp chilli powder
  • 500 - 600 gms chicken liver
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • a dash of fish sauce





INSTRUCTIONS:
  1. First marinate chicken liver for 30 minutes with salt, red chilli powder, turmeric powder and coriander powder. 
  2. To start cooking, pour an oil in a medium heated pan. Wait until the oil is hot enough. 
  3. Saute the onion and add the salt once it turned into transparent and followed by the chilli powder. Mix well.
  4. Then add the ginger and tomatoes. Simmer until the tomatoes are very soft.
  5. And you can put the marinated chicken liver next. Mix thoroughly.
  6. Simmer and stir in between cooking to prevent sticking from the pan. 
  7. Once the sauce has decreased into half, add the julienne green chilli. Mix and check the taste. 
  8. Add fish sauce or any preferred seasoning when necessary. 
  9. When the sauce has thickened, remove from heat. 
  10. Now time to enjoy your delicious spicy chicken liver!
