  • 500 g shrimps
  • 2 gloves garlic - mince
  • 1 onion - mince
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 medium ginger - cut julienne
  • 100 ml water
  • 1 - 2 tbsp chilli oil with shrimp paste & black bean
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • sprinkle of salt and pepper to taste

  1. In a pan, saute garlic, onion and ginger a melted butter. Make sure that the stove is in medium heat setting.
  2. Add shrimps. Mix and simmer until the shrimps turned to orange.
  3. Pour the water to maintain the moisture. Simmer for 2 minutes.
  4. Add the chilli oil shrimp paste. How much to put depends on how spicy you want your recipe would be. However, consider that shrimp paste contain salts which can make your recipe salty when you added too much. So I would advice to start it with 1 tbsp and adjust when necessary.
  5. Next add oyster sauce and honey. Stir in between.
  6. Taste and adjust flavor. You may add salt and pepper as necessary to adjust the taste. Mix thoroughly.
  7. Remove the shrimps from heat when it is already cooked. Avoiding cooking shrimps for too long as this could make it chewy.
  8. If sauce is still watery, you can leave it on the stove longer to thicken it up and remove it from heat once thick consistency achieved.
  9. Transfer the shrimps to a serving plate and pour the thickened sauce over.
  10. Garnish with spring onion.
  11. Served with steamy rice...ENJOY guys!
