I would say this is one of my husband's favorite snack or dessert. I said this because he always ask me to make one for him. I can't blame him in doing so, this is because Maja Blanca is one of the mouth watering sweet yummy desserts.

According to Wikipedia, Maja Blanca is a Filipino dessert made primarily from coconut. It is also known as coconut pudding, it is usually serve during fiesta and during holidays, especially Christmas.[a]



In this recipe, we got a very simple ingredients and very simple easy to make instructions. Others would add sugar in the Maja Blanca, but with this recipe we tried to minimize the sugar by omitting sugar cane, but of course it remained tasty.

Ingredients are locally available, in short you can easily find them. So let's take a look the list that we need to make this recipe.

INGREDIENTS:
  • 3/4 cup corn flour
  • 3/4 cup fressh milk
  • 350 - 400 gms corn cornel
  • 1 can (397 gms) condense milk
  • 2 cans (400 gms/can) coconut milk
  • 200 gms cheese ( any cheese of your choice)



HOW TO MAKE:
  1. Start by mixing the corn starch and fresh milk. Mix thoroughly until lumps are dissolve and set     aside.
  2. Put pan on a medium heat stove, add the 2 cans of coconut milk and bring to boil. Stir occasionally.
  3. After 5 minutes of boiling, add the corn cornel, then bring it to boil again.
  4. While boiling, pour the condense milk and keep stirring from time to time. Bring to boil.
  5. Next add the diluted cornstarch & milk mixture slowly into the cooking pan. At this time, make sure you stir continuously to prevent uneven texture. Wait till the mixture turned to a thick and form consistency. 
  6. Add a small portion of cheese and continue stirring till it blended well with the maja blanca.
  7. Once the pudding is thick and sticky, the mixture is cook !
  8. Remove from the fire and transfer to the preferred container.
  9. Sprinkle the remaining cheese on the top to cover the whole area.
  10. Let it cool down. It is recommended to put it on fridge for at least 4 hours to make it firmer and formed.
  11. Now you can enjoy your yummy cheesy corn maja blanca !
